Royal Oak United hands OA its third loss.
The Royal Oak United squad, playing its first season together as a collective from 4 schools (Royal Oak, Clawson, Madison Hgts, Royal Oak Shrine), over powered the Oxford Avondale Hockey team on Saturday night, December 1st, 9-1.
The first period started with both teams trying to get their offensive attacks going. Royal Oak was able to strike first at the 13:10 mark with a shot right in front of Senior Goalie Aaron Angelo. They added 2 more quick goals, all coming from right in front of the goal as OA was slow to clear out the Raven forwards, to take the score to 3-0. OA was able to get on the board as Freshman forward Brian Budde centered a pass to Senior Captain Ben Pratt who did not miss to bring the score to 3-1. Royal Oak added a late goal in the first beating Aaron Angelo on a rebound to take the score to 4-1.
The second period had Royal Oak continue to dominate puck possession as they put 18 shots on net with Aaron Angelo unfortunately giving up 4 more goals, again from point blank range to bring the score to 8-1 as the period ended.
The third period ended quickly as Royal Oak scored their final goal, taking the score to 9-1 which ended the game per high school hockey regulations.
