Lady Wildcats Take Down The Dragons

Lady Wildcats Take Down The Dragons
In a make up game originally postponed by the polar vortex accosting the Midwest, the Oxford Wildcats took on the Lake Orion Dragons at home. Oxford came through with a win over Lake Orion 38-30.

Oxford came out with fire to start the first quarter. After four minutes of play, the Wildcats outscored their opponents 9-2. Oxford cooled off in the second, giving way to Lake Orion's transition offense. Methner and Morris were able to fend off the Dragon's offense at half court creating chaos for Lake Orion guards. Going into the half, Oxford led Lake Orion 18-14.

The Wildcats took off similarly like they had in the first quarter, increasing their lead to 10 at several points. Three point field goals from Methner and Tyrell gave Oxford momentum, but not enough to pull away from Lake Orion. Oxford struggled to stop Lake Orion's #12 and their driving onslaught.

Lake Orion would come within three by a three pointer from Lake Orion's #51. Big rebounds on the Wildcat's defensive end led to free throws for them down the stretch, sealing the win.

Methner would finish with 12 points, Cato with 8 points. Oxford takes on Farmington Thursday at home.
