The bowling center in Oxford was rocking Monday night. Oxford hosted the undefeated North Farmington Varsity boys and girls bowling teams.
The Boys match started with the Wildcats pulling out a 1 pin victory 213 to 212. The Cats then cruised to a baker sweep and a 10-point lead. Game 1 would see the young Wildcats win 3 matches and a 1099 to 950 game victory to seal the match. Bowling well and leading the squad was Collin Massie 247, 201 Luke Acton 234,234, Justin Powell 224, Zach Barrows 216.
The victory moves the Boys record to 8 and 1 overall and 5 and 0 in Conference. They will take on Ferndale on Wednesday and Lake Orion on Thursday. Thursdays match is at Collier Lanes.
The girls struggled in baker games but still won 6 of the 10 points. In game 1 the girls won 3 of 5 matches and the game totals to take a 13 to 6 lead going into the final game. Claire Sandstrom 193, Grace Meyer 180 and Mya Bruno 143 all won their matches in game 1. The Wildcats would seal the match in game 2 when Lilly Boothe 152, Meyer 175 and Sandstrom 204 all won their matches and the team won game 2 totals 884 to 804. Megan Armbruster had 2 solid games of 207 and 193 to help seal the team win.
The win moves the girls to 6 and 1 on the season and 5 and 0 in conference. The girl's showdown for the OAA Red title will be Thursday night at Collier Lanes when the ladies will face off with Lake Orion. The 2 teams are rank 2nd and 3rd in the state and should be a great match to watch.
