The Wildcats showed they came to play in the first quarter. Firing on all cylinders in the first three minutes, Oxford opened up scoring from beyond the arc with a pair of threes. West Bloomfield was stunned, converting only 3 out of 13 field goal attempts in the first quarter. The second quarter went to the Wildcats again. Tenacious defense and a great shot selection gave Oxford a healthy confidence. Oxford capitalized on fast break opportunities and finished at the free throw line. Going into the half Oxford was up 30-20. A quick bucket for West Bloomfield to start the third quarter gave some momentum to the Lakers. West Bloomfield was big on offensive boards creating second and thirds chances allowing the Lakers to close the gap. They would cut Oxford's lead to six midway through the fourth quarter. Oxford rallied out making good decisions on offense and finding good ball movement within each other. The Wildcats out rebounded the Lakers in the second half. Despite only sinking five field goals on the second half, Oxford won out at the free throw line finishing 17 of 21 free throws on the night.
The Wildcats hand West Bloomfield their first loss on the season, giving Oxford the momentum it needs heading into post season play. Oxford travels to Troy High School to take on the Colts in the last game of the regular season.
