LAKE ORION, MICH.-Crosstown rivals Oxford High School and Lake Orion High School will take that battle to the hardwood tonight as Lake Orion High School hosts the MHSAA Boys Basketball District championship game. It's certain to be an electric environment for the basketball powerhouse matchup.
To raise the stakes, Lake Orion Community Schools Superintendent Marion Ginopolis (previously Oxford's Superintendent from 1993-2000) and Oxford Community Schools Superintendent Tim Throne, have agreed to their own competition.
The winning school Superintendent will be treated to a meal in the other school's town.
Additionally, the losing school Superintendent will wear a shirt of the winning school to their next school board meeting as well as the next Oakland County Superintendents' meeting.
The on-court showdown will remind us how two towns can come together and enjoy friendly competition. May the best team
