March Celebrates National Athletic Training Month 2019. Oxford Athletics is fortunate to have two athletic trainers and would like to celebrate Alissa Beeman & Andrew McDonald.
What is High School Athletic Training? Athletic trainers work with athletes of all ages and skills levels to prevent and treat injuries suffered during practices or games. On the high school level, athletic trainers focus on students taking part in a range of school sports, such as football, basketball, and track.
"I met Andrew McDonald on my very first day at Oxford High School. Watching the way the student-athletes trusted and respected him, I knew he was someone to go to for guidance. Andrew's caring attitude and dedication are true assets to our organization," said Athletic Event Coordinator Bryan Brandeberry. "Alissa always goes above and beyond to assist our kids with athletic injuries. Both Andrew & Alissa's ability to show the student-athletes how to show respect for their coaches, officials and opponents with a positive attitude is what separates them from the rest!"
We asked some Oxford administration and coaching staff their thoughts about our awesome trainers. Please view this video dedicated to our trainers -
We also asked each trainer to give us some information on their background
