Oxford Baseball Wins At Varsity & JV Level

Varsity Recap:

Three Oxford Pitchers combine to hold Everest Collegiate to 1 hit and no runs. Karson Ulatowski was the starting Pitcher who went 3 2/3 innings of perfection. He surrendered the only hit of the game after going 4 2/3 innings. Ulatowski threw 5 innings allowing only 1 hit, 8 strikeouts, and 2 walks. Garett Hiler and Joey Miller each threw an inning collecting a strikeout a piece. Oxford's offense came to live in the 4th inning scoring 5 runs. The offensive firepower was led by Miller, Thomas Smalley, Ryan Upton, and Drew Carpenter, all driving in runs in the inning. Smalley led The Cats with 2 stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 7 stolen bases.

 

Two Pitchers Team Up As Oxford Wildcats JV Defeats Brandon In Shut-Out:

In The First Game Of A Doubleheader The Oxford Wildcats JV Team Defeated Brandon 9-0 On Wednesday As Two Pitchers Combined To Throw A Shutout.

Joe Roeher Led Oxford To Victory By Driving In Four Runs. He Went 2-For-3 At The Plate. Roeher Drove In Runs On A Single In The First And A Single In The Second. The Wildcats got things moving in the first inning, when Roeher singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Sean Cooper was on the mound for Oxford Wildcats JV. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over six innings, striking out 15.  Cannon Snow came on for the 7th inning, striking out 2 additional Brandon hitters. Oxford tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Jack Butzu led the way with three. In the second game of the doubleheader Oxford easily dispatched Brandon 10-2. The Wildcats got on the board in the first inning when Nolan Kutchey reached on a dropped third strike.

The home team then notched four runs in the second inning. Joe Roeher, Brendan Moore, and Sean Cooper all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Kutchey led things off on the hill for Oxford Wildcats JV. He allowed three hits and two runs over four innings, striking out eight.  Snow again came on in the last inning striking out another batter to end the game. Moore went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Oxford Wildcats JV in hits. The Wildcats will play host to rival Lake Orion next Monday, come out and support the team!
