Girls' Varsity Lacrosse battle against Clarkston Wolves

The Wildcats traveled to Clarkston to take on the high powered Wolves of Clarkston High School. The Wildcats entered the game with a solid game plan and executed well to start off the match. During the course of the first 15 minutes of the game the Wildcats controlled the ball, the tempo and the lead as they were up 2-1. Winding down the final 10 minutes of the first half the Wolves had a scoring run and the half ended with the Wolves up 5-3. As the second half played out the Wildcats continued to battle to the final horn, scoring 2 of the final 3 goals of the game, but came up short dropping the game by a score of 5-13.

Notable performances by many Wildcats as their execution, grit, and consistency of play was on display spanning initial draw thru the final horn.
Offensively: Chloe Schulz (junior), Olivia Soule (junior), Megan Klinger (senior), Emma Crosby (sophomore). Midfield: Kylie Rancilio (sophomore), Keira Veltigian (senior). Defensively:  Kennedy Brisbon (senior), Audrey Hermanson (junior), Summer Bell (junior), Gwyn Love (junior). Goal/Defense: Shelby Mueller (junior) split the game in goal as well as on defense and had exceptional play at both positions

Girls' Varsity Lacrosse take on NDP Fighting Irish

The Wildcats started the day dodging orange barrels as they made their way to Pontiac to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame Prep.  The Wildcats started fast as their game plan was in action, 10 minutes into the game they were up 4-2.  The Irish followed up with a surge of their own, ending the first half Irish 7, Wildcats 5.  As the second half played out the both teams were in it to win it trading early goals, the Wildcats wrapped up the second half scoring 4 of the last 5 goals of the game, but ran out of time and could not overcome the 2 goal differential which ended the first half, the Wildcats fell by a score of 12-14.   

Offensively Chloe Schulz (junior), Megan Klinger (senior), Emma Crosby (sophomore) and Caitlin Hill (senior) moved the ball with purpose in the offensive zone. The Wildcats continued their pressure throughout the entire game and with 15 seconds remaining Rebecca Smiles (junior) rounded out the scoring.  

On the defensive side Megan Alban (freshman) flipped the field serval times by creating turn overs then used her speed to move the ball down field to an offensive player. Audrey Hermanson (junior), Summer Bell (junior) and Shelby Mueller (junior) continued their dependable defensive play making it difficult for the Irish to get quality shots on Oxford goalie Gracie Fritsche (sophomore).

Boys' Lacrosse -

Under Head Coach Shawn Regan, the Oxford Boys' Lacrosse became OAA WHITE Champions - 7-0 in league play. Oxford fell in the first round of the MHSAA playoffs to Waterford Unified, 5-8. Great Season Wildcats!
