Varsity Baseball Splits With Utica High School

Oxford Varsity Baseball split with Utica High School in a non-conference DH. Oxford took the first game 6-3 and lost game 2 4-2.

In game 1, the 4th inning proved to be enough for Oxford to win. Karson Ulatowski, Joe Good, and Evan Brunning all drove runs in the inning. Ulatowski earned the victory on the mound. He went six innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out eight. Ethan Burdua threw the seventh inning in relief to record the save. Joey Miller, Good, Drew Carpenter, Ulatowski, Brunning, Gabe Debo, and Ryan Upton each collected one hit in the game.

The Cats dropped the nightcap 4-2. Utica got things going in the first inning scored three runs on a handful of Texas leaguers and seeing eye singles. Joey Miller took the loss for Oxford, he allowed seven hits and four runs in seven innings while striking out five. Oxford had nine hits in the game. Miller, Brady Carpenter each collected multiple hits.
