JV Baseball Wraps Up Season

The Wildcats wrapped up their season with a double header sweep against Utica High School Tuesday to give them a 16-8 final record.

4 pitchers combined for the win in game 1. Cannon Snow started and went 2 scoreless innings before Blake Johnson took over. From there Brendan Moore came on in relief and finally Zane Fantich finished off the 4-3 win for Oxford.

Offensively the Wildcats were led by Moore (2-2, walk, 2 runs scored), Gavin Marsden (1-1, walk, run scored, RBI), Joe Roeher (2-3, double, RBI) and Silas VonAllmen (1-2, run scored).

In game 2, Tony Hatzigeorgiou got the start on the mound, going 5 strong innings while striking out 4 Chieftains and allowing just 2 runs. Roeher threw the final 2 innings to secure the 3-2 win for the Wildcats. They were helped out by some solid defense, including a great diving catch by Marsden in center field.

On offense Oxford was led by Moore (1-3, run scored), Roeher (2-4, 2 RBI), Jack Butzu (2-3, run scored), Fantich (2-2), Johnson (2-3), Hatzigeorgiou (1-3, double, RBI), and VonAllmen (1-2, run scored).
