OXFORD, Mich.- The Wildcats continued their winning ways with an 11-1 win over the Raiders of Almont High School. Sean Cooper got the start and shut Almont out through 2 innings with 3 strikeouts before passing the ball to Nolan Kutchey. Kutchey threw the next 2 innings, striking out 3 batters of his own. Joe Roeher finished the win off by striking out another 3 batters through the final 2 innings. Tommy Smalley made another highlight real play in left field to end a scoring threat by the Raiders.
Oxford was led on offense by a number of Wildcats. Cooper Schihl was 1-3 with 2 lineouts, a double, stolen base and run scored. Tyler Dejong was on 3 times and scored 2 runs. Garret Hiler was 1-2 with 2 walks, had 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Other standouts included Tanner Stokes (on base 3 times with a triple, run scored and RBI), Roeher (2-3, run scored, RBI), and Ethan Burdua (1-1, 2 walks, stolen base, RBI, run scored). Oxford will take on Bloomfield High School Friday and try to bring home another W.
