Despite beating the Wildcats by a combined score of 23-1 in three games during the regular season, the Dragons didn’t have an answer for a motivated Oxford team in Monday’s Division 1 district baseball final.
Student-Athlete of the Week: Brady Carpenter had an amazing week at the plate during the Rochester Adams series. Over the three game span he was an impressive 7 for 10 at the plate, 3 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, and 1 sacrifice.

Oxford defeated Stoney Creek 16-6 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at six with the Wildcats batting in the bottom of the fifth when Tony Hatzigeorgiou drew a walk, scoring one run.

Both teams were strong on the mound on Sunday, but L’Anse Creuse North was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Oxford. It took 8 innings to determine the winner but LCN managed to score 1 run in the bottom half of the 8th.
In Game 1 of a double header Saturday, a seven-run second inning led Oxford to a 12-2 victory over Detroit Country Day. In game 2, of the double header a walk-off single led Oxford past Detroit Country Day 8-7 on Saturday.
In the first inning, the Wildcats got their offense started when Gavin Walters singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run to start a 4 run first inning. Devon May added an insurance run in the fifth with a long double scoring Brendan Moore.
