Bowlers Compete at Davison Doubles

The Bowling team had a light schedule over the holiday break, but were able to compete in the annual Davison Doubles tournament at Richfield Lanes. Near 80 mixed doubles teams, 1 boy and 1 girl, competed in the 13 annual tournament. Oxford teams have won the event the past 2 years. This year Oxford sent 7 teams to try and three-peat.

Oxford qualified 5 of the 7 teams for the championship round. A 6th team missed the cut by a mere 2 pins. In the first round of Championship play 2 of the 5 would be cut but 3 of the top 16 were from Oxford. All three teams lost very close matches and the dream of a three-peat ended. Top finishers for the Wildcats were Megan Armbruster / Tanner Cartner, Marissa Smith / Christian Cartner and the brother sister team of Grace and Luke Meyer.

Lilly Boothe with Justin Powell and Mya Bruno with Justin Sisson also qualified for the championship round of 32.

Oxford claimed some high awards however with Luke Meyer and Christian Cartner earning All-Tournament team awards and Christian won an award for a super 257 game. That was one of the top 3 games all day.
